
Online seminars
Module 1,2 and 3

We provide three distinct modules through online seminars, which are designed to train Christians who are passionate about reaching vulnerable children, families, and communities. This includes assisting street children, refugees, orphans, children from broken homes, those in slums, and children living with HIV/AIDS, among others facing various challenges.
For who?

The seminars are open to those who have completed a Discipleship Training School (DTS), the YWAM Basic School of the University of the Nations.

They are also available to those who have not completed a DTS but have a heart for children and seek additional training.
How?

Each seminar consists of six teaching sessions (3 hours) with a short break in the middle, including a 30-minute small group/mentoring session. There are two sessions per week, every Monday and Wednesday, spanning a total of three weeks.

There will be homework to do after each class, which will take approximately 2 hours per class, (videos, articles, etc.)

The platforms used are Zoom, Google Classroom & WhatsApp

Certificate?

This seminar is registered as an Extension Course with the University of the Nations, and participants will receive a certificate upon successful completion of the seminar.

Module 1:

God's Heart for Children I - This session explores how God views children, emphasizing His love, justice, mercy, and compassion.

God's Heart for Children II - It discusses the characteristics of wholesome children, what went wrong, and how we can help children on their path to restoration.

Biblical Worldview and Community Development - This session examines how our belief system affects our view of children and poverty, and how we can work with them in a holistic and non-paternalistic way.

Child Development - Focuses on how to help children reach their full potential.

Understanding Different Groups of Children at Risk - Strategies to work with children at risk, their families, and communities.

Family-Based Care vs. Institutional Care - Promotes adoption and foster care as alternatives to institutional care.

Value of Girls and Women - Discusses the importance of valuing girls and women around the world.

Abortion and Personhood Theory - Explains the deception of the personhood theory, why it matters, and what can be done.

Combatting Human Trafficking - Understanding the problem and learning different ways to take action.

Community Development - How to help transform slums and refugee camps, including pitfalls and good practices.

Education - Focuses on the character of the teacher and how to plan lessons, understanding different types of intelligence and giftings in children.

Trauma and Resilience - Practical tools for grief and trauma counseling with children, and how to build their resilience
Module 3

The Child Protection Policy and Recognizing and Intervening in Cases of Child Abuse - Creating safe and welcoming environments and protecting lives with knowledge and action.

Understanding and Healing Trauma in Children - Effective tools and therapies.

Models of Care for Children in Vulnerable Situations - Effective alternatives to institutionalization include adoption, foster care, and community-based care.

Self-Care, Stress Management, and Healthy Relationships - Tips for handling daily challenges, avoiding manipulation, and preventing emotional dependency.

Leadership and Teamwork - How to deal with challenges, betrayals and building a strong team.

Intercultural Issues and Communication - Navigating between different cultures, and methods of effective communication, using, among other means, artificial intelligence to enhance ministry.

Membercare. Staff Debriefing: Engage in an exchange at the cross to address and release pain, disappointments, conflicts, and guilt. This process aids in healing and enhances team functionality.
